Random Ramblings

I went to Critical Mass yesterday. I hadn't been in ages (September), and I was sure in need of some bik-eraderie. I talked to a few people about going to Mini-Bike Winter (trying to persuade them to come). They want to, but as usual most people have concerns about being able to pay rent, and can't always do these things. So we shall see what transpires. I met a first time Critical Masser named Dakota (a silly name unless one is of aboriginal descent from that area).

I have a ton of bike stuff to do. Not just prepping for MBW, but my regular bike stuff. I've been riding my (current) main bike(Brodie Quantum) as a single speed, but not by choice. The derailleurs crapped out just over a month ago, and I'm stuck in 23rd gear. It makes for some tough hill-climbing. The derailleurs are OK, just need some cleaning (a lot for the front one). But the shift cables are fucked. Probably the cable housing too. The brake cables & housing need replacing too. And ditto the chain, chain-rings, and cassette. I have the stuff (got cable housing last night, after Mass, at MEC). I have another Brodie hardtail to rehab. A previous 'owner' painted it dark green over its original dark blue, without masking various parts, so it looks rather scruffy. I want to get rid of the overspray, and ideally all the green paint, without wrecking the blue. That is the smallest job. I still haven't finished the work on my original Brodie.... and then there is the other Brodie hardtail I disassembled to repaint, but only got as far as the primer coat before the weather turned too cold...... and I have a zillion other projects on the go or planned. It's nice and sunny today, so mebbe I'll git sumpin' done.
